Dear Mr. Aconfora,
As a former Division I football student-athlete at Florida A&M University with my passion for storytelling, I am excited to apply
for the Multimedia Journalist position at ESPN. My time as an athlete taught me discipline, resilience, and the power of
narrative. I’m super excited to bring my experience to a role where strong reporting meets unique content creation.
During my collegiate career, I balanced a tough athletic and academic schedule while writing and editing scripts as the
Associate Producer of FAMU News 20 at 5 and being a staff writer for The Famuan. I developed a great understanding of sports
while playing but also another aspect of writing sports scripts for the newscast. I am skilled and confident in using Adobe
Premiere and Final Cut Pro. Although my goal is to one day be an on-camera personality, I am confident in my ability to be off
camera as well. I worked as a server operator and teleprompter operator during my time with FAMU TV 20 News at 5.
What sets me apart is not just my background in football, but my ability to connect with athletes and audiences. I understand
the uniqueness of a locker room, the flow of a game week, and the importance of honesty in coverage. I believe ESPNs team
embodies values that will elevate sports journalism with creativity, insight, and heart.
Thank you for considering my application. I would love the opportunity to talk further about how my experience and passion
align with the values of ESPN.
Sincerely,
Nay'Ron Jenkins
